My T-mobile contract was up for renewal, and with that renewal, I could choose a new phone at a discounted price. Not having a phone that could really use the Internet, needing one for work, I decided to go with the Google G1 phone. The phone is called the G1 and the opperating system is called Android.
The phone has a lot of neat features, one of the best is that I can be in a store and scan the barcode of the product I’m looking using the camera on the phone. The phone does a quick search on the Internet and lets me know if the product is for sale on Amazon.com, other websites, and if it is for sale at nearby retailers. The phone has GPS in it, so I don’t need to purchase a separate GPS unit for my car which can cost four times what my phone cost.
The phone has a touch-screen interface and also has an expandable keyboard.
Here are some videos of what the G1 can do:
Saving Stuff from the Internet:
Using the Map Application to view Traffic Conditions:
Using the Window Shade to see New emails, Text messages, calendar events:
Customizing the Home Page and Searching for Applications:

It’s a great phone, and will keep getting better with new updates and programs you can install for free on the phone. The integration with Gmail, Google Calendar, and other Google services is great.
