What can you get for 100,000 Delta Skymiles?
We’ve been saving up our sky miles over the years and had a little strategy, instead of spending them on a short flight here or there, we saved up our sky miles to give us the benefit of seeing places which would be extremely expense to fly to without sky miles. For 100,000 Delta Sky Miles, I think we’ve come to a pretty neat place for free airfare.
For a surprise trip for Angie over her birthday, the City of Lights seemed appropriate, and the cost will end up being about what a trip to Disneyland would be.
Instead of staying in an “okay” hotel that would cost a whole lot, we’re staying in a bed and breakfast. We have a whole private apartment to ourselves and will be able to prepare our meals in the kitchen. The fridge has food for breakfast, and part of breakfast we’ll be able to pick up fresh each day at the bakery next door (another money saver).
Not sure where the “City of Lights” is? Click here for a picture posted on Wikipedia.
Our bed and breakfast is located within a short walking distance of the Sacre Coeur church which has a great view of the whole city. We plan on seeing the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum (let’s see that smile Mona Lisa), some of the famous gardens, Notre Dame, and the Sacre Coeur church. Many of the monuments are right next to each other, so we’ll be walking a bit and taking in the city.
The LDS Church website has a new meeting house locater, that tells us where the churches are so we’re planning on attending church there.
I’ve been taking French Lessons by Podcast each day in the car for weeks, so we should be able to get by.
I wrote this article before we left and set it to publish/display as we were arriving, so hopefully, we’ve made it there okay by now. We’ll post updates if I can get good access to the Internet there.
