Internet at Home

We now have Internet at our new
place!  It’s so nice.  We looked at all the different options
and thought about going with cable Internet, but it was pretty
expensive.  DSL Internet (which is actually run over your
telephone line at a different frequency than your phone) was not too
bad, but you had to pay the phone company and then pay for your
Internet Service Provider (ISP).  We could get DSL all from the
phone company, but they didn’t have the options that we wanted.
Internet through satellite cable just didn’t appeal.

We found that we could get wireless for the
home.  Real wireless.  We went through a company called
Digis.  They install an antenna on your home that points to a
transponder they have setup somewhere nearby.  They then bring a
line into your home.  By far, it’s the best price for Internet
that we found.  It’s half as expensive as cable Internet, and
they’re more flexible on the types of things we’d like for our
connection.

The company has a very nice referral program.  If you refer five
friends, and they sign up, you get your Internet service free for five
years!  If you refer one friend, you get a month free up to four
friends and four free months.  One the fifth, you get free Internet for
five years.
