Hong Kong Fairs 2009

We went to the Hong Kong Fairs (one near the airport organized by Global Sources and one at the Hong Kong Convention Center organized by the government).  The fairs were good, and we found some interesting product.  Some product fits into the existing line while others are way out there but could be very good.

The Canton Fair in Guangzhou in China has come a long way since I last visited.  There is wireless Internet access in the halls and it’s quite good.  The Hong Kong show at the airport didn’t have Internet I think, and the Convention center had very limited Internet.    The Canton Fair has carpet, and is really put together well.

We ate at Ebeneezers Sandwhich shop which is quite good, and the other night had Tai food.  I really like the Tai food.  It was a nice break.

It was funny to walk through a section of booths from Iran, mostly carpets, but the big booth had big pictures of the old contraversial leaders of Iran up on the wall.  Funny.

We found some great items from Tailand.

Here’s a video outside the hotel near the convention center (we didn’t stay at this hotel, but the gardens were nice):
