Harris, Carole Benon (Nov 5, 1925 – May 8, 2000) by Angie Byram

Grandma Wheatley

Written July 11, 2004

By Angela Byram – Granddaughter of Benon, Daughter of Alan
Wheatley, Benon's 3rd son.

           What I
remember about Grandma Wheatley is that she loved to play games.  We all loved to play "Skip bo" with her
because she would get so into it and she would have lots of patience with all
of us grandkids.

            I always
loved going to Grandma Wheatley's because we would play "the Bag."  She would get some of her belongings like old
earrings, make-up, and nick-naks and put them in a bag and then she would have
a drawing for which grandchild got to reach into the bag first and grab a
surprise, and then we would all fight over what we wanted.  We all always wanted to play the game, and
she always humored our requests.
