Google Maps Updated to Street View – Near You
Many folks use the Internet to find directions to destinations whether in town, or across the country. Google Maps is a popular map site that provides you with directions to the places you want to go and even lets you view a satellite picture of the location as well as see traffic conditions (in major cities).
The satellight pictures are nice, but it still can be difficult to determine which side of the street contains your destination. Well now there is “Street View” from Google Maps that lets you view 360 degrees along the streets and intersections that you choose. Street View has been around for a while, but it is now being rolled out to more and more locations. If a map you’re looking at on Google Maps has the option for “Street View” in the upper right, you’ll be able to navigate the streets from the view and perspective if you were really standing there.
Street View will mark the streets in the picture and you can easily rotate the picture to see the views of the streets. Never again will you miss that turn (well, almost never).
