Free, Secure Backup Solution
Free File Backup
Recently, we’ve looked for a secure way to backup our files that would not only securely transfer our files but would also store our files securely (through encryption) at a remote location.
We were delighted to find Mozy.com of the various backup solutions we looked at. It’s free (up to 2 Gig of storage) and encrypts files as they transfer and uses special encryption on the storage server (meaning I’m the only one with access to my data, not even the Mozy techs can get it).
We found the tool easy to use and understand. It backs up your files in the background. What’s more is that if we refer others (even to the free service), we get an additional 256 MB of storage space AND so does the person we refer if they sign-up using referal code (this is the part you right down) 67UUVM or you can follow the link https://mozy.com/?ref=67UUVM
The software works on both Macs and PC’s. We tested backup and restore, and things worked great. If you backup a lot of data your first go around, it may take a little while, but after that, it should be very quick.
So, if you don’t want to lose all those fine pictures you took while fishing, sign up for Mozy (unlike some “free” services, Mozy doesn’t require you to enter a credit card number just in case they want to upgrade you to the pro plans.)
