Choosing

Poem: Choosing
Written: Dec 12, 2004

The mountain tall, the valley deep,

Rely on forces to move, to lift, to shape, and keep.

The wind, the sun, and earth below,

With rain and snow do force the land and shape its flow.

All these form and cut with great intensity

Yet truth be told, it is not so with me.

For the rocks and trees and mountains strong

Have no choice what shape to take or how to move along,

But I can choose what I want to be,

And thus, I shape my destiny.
