These are the videos you’re looking for…
A big thanks to Mashable for tipping us off on the hilarious videos below from Improv Everywhere.
When you’re on a New York subway, you never know who you might run into…even storm troopers.
(The second video below is even funnier.)
The last time I went to the library, I wasn’t thinking of Ghosts, but these people probably won’t go again without thinking about spooks, but don’t worry, you know who to call if it happens to you…
I wondered about the security guard that talked to the first ghost, and those ray guns could have gotten those guys shot or in trouble. However, the idea for the stunt came from an unlikely source. According to Mashable:
The NYPL is currently dealing with some serious budget cuts, so they approached Improv Everywhere (of Pantless Subway Ride fame) to draw attention to the building’s plight.
Pretty cool.

Angie and I had the pleasure of attending a Passover dinner put on by the University a few weeks ago. It was a great experience to learn about traditions that have been passed down for nearly 3,000 years.
The Seder Service aka Passover meal was very detailed and we took lots of good notes. Definitely, one of the most striking and unforgettable elements of the evening was the eating of the bitter herbs. The herbs are to remind how bad slavery was, and I’ll tell you, after the eating the herbs, it was bad.
The professor that prepares the Seder Services each year may do 20 in a year, and his wife attends them all. She said that the herbs we tasted on a scale of one to 10 (10 being the highest bitterness) were a 9.5. The herbs are to evoke tears, and they did a pretty good job. We had a Jew at our table and she said that the herbs were very very strong.
The evening was extremely enlightening especially the part of relating to the Afikomen which is the last food to be eaten (a Matzah-unleavened bread that is broken and shared among the participants) followed by the fruit of the vine.

We saw the new penguins at the Auarium’s grand opening. We got there early, and we’re glad we did because the line to see the new exhibit got very, very long. The penguins were jumping in and out of the water.
Autumn brought her dolphin from school that she records what things she did when the dolphin came to visit. Autumn said that the dolphin felt at home there, and she held him up to see the penguins.
Who Do You Think You Are – First Two Episodes
We’ve enjoyed the “Who Do You Think You Are” series on regular television (and on the Internet) that takes celebrities on a journey through their family histories.
We just finished watching the Lisa Kudrow episode, and enjoyed it thoroughly which is saying a lot because I don’t like the show “Friends” she was in. In the episode, she explored her Jewish roots in Belarus and Poland.
The ones available for watching online (as of this writing) are the first two episodes. You can watch them in their entirety.
The episode about Emmitt Smith took a journey into the dark past of the American Slave Trade.
Sarah Jessica Parker found interesting informaiton about her family and the infamous Salem Witch Trials.

We had the unfortunate occurrence of having the flash on our Nikon D60 camera break and the cost to fix it was about the price of getting a new flash that could attach to the top of the camera.
The external flash would be cool, but as the only flash, it would be a little cumbersome to hook on the external flash every time we needed to take a quick picture with the flash.
We came across a video from Northern Lights that shows what the problem was and how to fix it. The fix took just a few minutes once we had the right precision screwdriver, and viola! we saved ourselves hundreds of dollars in repair costs and time without a camera.
The Internet is awesome! Just a little bit of searching, and we had our answer.
Now that it’s fixed, ironically…we want an external flash
Since we fixed our camera, we’ve had the bug to get a flash for our camera. The advantage of an attachable or external flash is that you don’t get the harsh shadows on people’s faces or behind them on the wall when taking pictures inside.
The attachable flash points away from your subjects and bounces the flash off the ceiling (if inside).
There are lots of different price ranges for flashes out there. We’re partial to the less expensive SB-400 model made by Nikon so you know it will work with all digital Nikon SLRs cameras.
Here’s a video showing how the SB-400 can tilt because from the pictures, it looks like it can’t. But in realitiy, it is more compact making the camera lighter to hold compared to the big flashes, and it works just fine angeling the flash.
This is the flash we want to get someday (Birthday or Christmas, come soon!) for the following reasons:
- Smaller and more light than other flashes making the camera easier to hold
- Smaller also means I’ll be more likely to take it around with me in the camera bag and use it more often
- It’s not complicated so it’s very easy to use (other flashes are over-complicated)
- It’s made by Nikon for Nikon cameras so I know it’ll work
The flash can be found on Amazon, and it has over 257 reviews (most of them the highest rating of 5 stars).
