Who Ordered the Clones?
You know, sometimes it’s okay to watch cartoons (usually better than anything else on TV baring the Discovery Channel and the History Channel).
The Clone Wars animated series has jettisoned to top ratings in its previous season, and it looks like the 3rd season starting on the 17th will be even better:

Our DVD collection isn’t huge by any means, but it used to be a big mess. The plastic DVD cases were like magnets to the kids and somehow they’d get tossed all over the floor (the DVD cases that is). We ended up running out of space for storing DVDs real fast. The DVDs were stacked two deep and our entertainment center was bulging at the seams.
Since we had only a few DVDs, and we know that a lot of people have 10 times the DVDs we do, we thought we’d post about what we did to bring a little organization to our entertainment center (and our sanity).
With a number of the DVD storage albums by Bellagio Italia Leather Company, we were able to make quick work of our DVD cases. In fact, we sent them straight to the recycle bin (after triple checking that the DVD discs weren’t actually in the cases.
I think we have about 10 ten now (so much for the “we don’t have a lot of DVD’s thing” but we really don’t). We’ve categorized our DVDs in the albums or binders so that there are a couple for the kids’ movies, church, action adventure, and three binders dedicated to the past 15 years worth of super bowls…that’s a joke.
What we’ve really found them handy for is for storing home movies that we burn on DVD. Since those don’t come with any case (generally), it’s great to have a place to store them all and take them on the go when needed.
Just be careful not to turn the binders upside down or the discs might spill out. There is a little tab to pull over the top of the discs to keep them in, but we usually don’t do that and so if the kids (or us) put the album in the entertainment center upside down (the album that is), the discs can fall out.
We have both the brown and the black binders which help us keep the movies in their dedicated binders. There is a space on the spine of the albums to write a note about the genre of discs in the album, but we haven’t written that yet.
So anyway, if your DVD situation is similar to how ours was, hopefully, these will help.

Shark Week is Here.
Once a year, the world comes together to face our darkest fears of this animal that lives in the deep (and sometimes not so deep as the video shows):
We don’t watch a lot of TV at our house, in fact we hardly watch any TV, we’d rather spend our time doing better things. But once a year, shark week roles around, and we like to take a moment to watch shows on Discovery channel that scare us half to death.
Happy Shark Week.

A big thanks to Mashable for tipping us off on the hilarious videos below from Improv Everywhere.
When you’re on a New York subway, you never know who you might run into…even storm troopers.
(The second video below is even funnier.)
The last time I went to the library, I wasn’t thinking of Ghosts, but these people probably won’t go again without thinking about spooks, but don’t worry, you know who to call if it happens to you…
I wondered about the security guard that talked to the first ghost, and those ray guns could have gotten those guys shot or in trouble. However, the idea for the stunt came from an unlikely source. According to Mashable:
The NYPL is currently dealing with some serious budget cuts, so they approached Improv Everywhere (of Pantless Subway Ride fame) to draw attention to the building’s plight.
Pretty cool.
